Recording posted: CAFF Webinar with Prof. Martin Gruebele

Topic: The Long-Term Prospects of Science

Abstract: Science is advancing more rapidly than ever, and with large potential societal impacts: displacing human jobs in favor of AI and robots, the (likely) impending discovery of life on exoplanets, solving massive energy and information problems, but also creating unforeseen problems due to the large scale of human impact on Earth. I will discuss a few of these topics from the point of view of scientist, and the contributions and impacts of science on society.
