Summer Internship Experience
Explore Current Research at UT
Summer 2024: May 28 - July 26
CREATE’s summer research internship spans 9 weeks and takes place at UT Austin's main campus. Applicants can anticipate working a minimum of 20 hours/week in a research laboratory within various departments, including Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Molecular Biosciences at UT Austin. During the program, participants are paired with a faculty research mentor to explore at least one project centered on a current STEM research topic. At the conclusion of the program, participants showcase their contributions during a Poster Session held in late July.
Throughout the program, participants can refine their laboratory techniques, network with UT faculty and student researchers, earn course credit via UT Extension, and receive financial support via a research stipend.

STEM majors currently enrolled at Austin Community College

GPA of 3.0 (preferred)

18 years of age or older

Step 2: Gather Supporting Documentation
To apply for CREATE’s Summer Internship, you will need the following:

An unofficial transcript describing courses taken at Austin Community College

A resume or curriculum vitae

Up to two letters of recommendation, preferably from individuals who can speak of your performance in science labs.

When you are committed to applying, please identify the two people who you would like to request a recommendation from and notify them of your intent.
NOTE: At least one letter of recommendation must be from an ACC professor. Although a minimum of one letter of recommendation is required, two letters of recommendation are preferred.

Once you have assembled your supporting documentation, please complete this application form.
